The School of International Studies (SIS) at Nanjing University was established in 2021. The SIS is dedicated to excellent research in the fields of world politics, international relations and national security and cultivating high-level talents engaging in the practices of international relations. The Faculty of SIS is comprised of PhDs from well-known universities around the world with diversified expertise ranging from international politics, global governance, IPE to cutting-edge IR issues.
The SIS has two departments: the Department of international politics and the Department of foreign affairs; three research platforms: the Collaborative Innovation Center of South China Sea Studies, Huazhi Institute for Global Governance and Institute for Area Studies; and hosts the Journal of Asia-Pacific Security and Marine Affairs. The SIS has presided over and participated in a number of international cooperation projects and state-level research plans, and established partnerships and collaborations with highly prestigious universities around the world.
