The School of Electronic Science and Engineering is one of the important schools in Nanjing University for personnel training and scientific research in the field of electronics and information technology. It ranks A-class in electronic science and technology in China Discipline Evaluation due to its strong human resources and fruitful scientific achievements. The school currently has 3 Members of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, 16 national leading talents and 30 national young talents. It hosts 4 innovative research teams funded by the Information Science Department of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, as well as 8 provincial and ministerial-level innovative teams sponsored by the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Science and Technology and other authorities.The school is guided by the forefront of science and technology and major national needs and undertakes a large number of national key research projects as well as other research projects in cooperation with provinces, local governments and high-tech enterprises.Since the launch of the 13th Five-Year Plan, the School has been honored with numerous prestigious awards, including the Second Prize of the National Natural Science Award, the Second Prize of the National Technological Invention Award, the Jiangsu Provincial Outstanding Contribution Award for Science and Technology, and the First Prize of the Jiangsu Provincial Science and Technology Award.
